How To Prediction Markets (HowToPM) is an independent website that explains prediction markets to people who are new to them. We aren't owned by, and don't work for, any prediction market, exchange or sportsbook.
Who's behind HowToPM
HowToPM was founded by Catie Di Stefano, who has spent 15 years in the regulated gambling industry, from Betsson Group and Gaming Innovation Group in Malta (where she led the US launch of Hard Rock Online Casino and Sportsbook after the repeal of PASPA) to Managing Editor-in-Chief of OnlineGamblers.com, where she was also its Ambassador for Pro-Active Responsible Gambling. She has been named to the iGamingExpress Top 70 Most Influential Women in iGaming, and has spoken about prediction platforms since 2022. More about Catie.
What we do
- Explain. What prediction markets are, how prices work, what fees you pay, how taxes and the law treat them.
- Show you how. Numbered, step-by-step guides for signing up, depositing, trading and withdrawing on each major US platform.
- Compare and review. Honest reviews of Kalshi, Polymarket, OG, ProphetX, Novig and Rebet, with the date of our last check.
- Follow the rules as they change. US state-by-state developments, and regulation around the world (Gibraltar, Malta, the EU, the UK).
What we won't do
- Promise profits. Most people who trade prediction markets don't beat the market over time.
- Hide how we make money. See How we make money.
- Publish a fact without a date. Offers, fees and availability change often, so every changeable fact says when we checked it.
Languages
Prediction markets are used by people from every background. We're adding Spanish first, then Chinese, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Hindi, French and Arabic.
