Short answer: FanDuel Predicts and DraftKings Predictions are prediction market apps from the two biggest US sportsbook brands. Instead of betting against the house, you trade CFTC-regulated event contracts. FanDuel Predicts' contracts are listed by CME Group exchanges (CME Group), and the apps act as the front door to those markets. Kalshi and Polymarket are dedicated prediction exchanges with a wider range of non-sports markets. How the sportsbook brands' apps work
- FanDuel Predicts is a joint venture between FanDuel and CME Group. The contracts are listed on CME exchanges and regulated by the CFTC. FanDuel has also announced a partnership with Crypto.com and OG to expand its event contracts (FanDuel).
- DraftKings Predictions works on the same principle: an app that gives you access to exchange-listed event contracts.
- Both focus heavily on sports, and have added markets on finance and culture.
- Both launched first in states without legal online sports betting; availability differs by state, and the app confirms it.
