What changed at Novig?
Novig used to run a sweepstakes app with two currencies, Novig Coins and Novig Cash. That model is gone.
- 16 June 2026: the CFTC designated Novig's exchange, Ludlow Exchange, LLC, as a designated contract market (DCM) (SBC Americas).
- 4 August 2026: the new app launched as a real-money sports prediction market, with trades cleared through Bitnomial (Gaming Today).
You now deposit and trade in US dollars, the same way you would on Kalshi or ProphetX.
How does Novig work?
Novig is a peer-to-peer exchange. You trade against other users, not against a sportsbook. You can take the best price on offer, or post your own price and wait for someone to match it. That rewards patient, price-aware traders.
Markets are sports only: the major US leagues, with player props, parlays and live in-game trading. There are no markets on elections, the economy or weather. For those, see Kalshi.
What does Novig cost?
As of 27 September 2026, pre-game single trades carry no commission. Reports say live in-game trades and parlays carry a taker fee that is built into the price you see. You also pay the spread, the gap between the best buy and sell prices. Novig's CEO has said the no-commission policy applies "at the moment", so fees could change. Where can you use Novig?
Novig was reported live in 47 states plus Washington, DC at launch, including California. It was reported as not available in Nevada, Arizona and Michigan, where state regulators have taken legal action against prediction markets. You must be 21 or older and physically located in an eligible state. It works on iPhone, Android and the web. The app checks your location and is the final word. See prediction markets by state.

Is Novig still a sweepstakes app?
No. Novig retired Novig Coins and Novig Cash when it relaunched as a regulated exchange. Reports say remaining Novig Cash balances were converted to dollars.
